There are two tennis courts within the estate that can be accessed from Beech Park drive.
The tennis courts were installed sometime in the 1980's and paid for by the residents of the estate
The tennis courts are included under the "taking in charge" policy framework in DLRCC, thus DLRCC are responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the tennis courts
Actions
We are in the process of engaging with the parks department in DLRCC regarding the maintanenace & upkeep of the tennis courts
We are also looking at how the tennis courts as a facility can be managed in the future through the residents association e.g a booking system etc
It would be proposed that the residents association would manage the tennis courts in the future through a sub commitee i.e sport facility sub commitee
Information residents may not know or understand regarding the tennis courts
The tennis courts are under DLRCC control via the "taking in charge" policy. This is also the case for the "green spaces" within the estate
DLRCC parks department are responsible for the management & upkeep of the tennis courts. It is assumed that DLRCC is also the responsible party with respect to public liability insurance related to the usage of the tennis courts as they have taken control of the tennis courts via the DLRCC "taking in charge" policy, however this point will need to be verified with DLRCC
Access to the tennis courts is not restricted to residents of our area
Access to the tennis courts should be available to anybody who would like to use them
