Beech Park Residents Association 

Introduction to the newly formed (2026) Beech Park Residents Association 

• As a newly established residents association for the Beech Park and wider area within DLRCC the progress of the residents association will be slow but steady progress to achieve some benefits for all of the house holders within our area 

Why get involved with the Beech Park Residents Association

• We will try to lead  with action & not administration e.g how to achieve quick wins that benefit our area 

• Micro volunteering roles. You do not need to be a commitee member to have a voice within the residents association

• Lobbying DLRCC: A residents association can act as the primary link to DLRCC and advocate for improvements like road repairs, traffic calming, or better street lighting

• Estate Maintenance:  A residents association can help to coordinate environmental projects, such as grass cutting, litter "clean-up days," and planting schemes to keep our area tidy.

• Social Connection:  A residents association can help to organize community-building events like summer projects, family fun days, and Christmas celebrations to foster neighborly bonds.

• Grant Applications: A residents association can apply for community grants funding for the area as it is registered in the PPN

• Safety Coordination: a residents association often works alongside local Gardaí to establish or maintain Neighbourhood Watch schemes to improve local security

A Vision of what a residents association can do and achieve in a stream lined structure 

• Carry out normal residents association activities as outlined above 

• Act as a sports club for the area 

• Act as a gardening club for the area 

• Act as a men and womans shed 

Implementing these types of elements under one structure and entity could have major benefits and reduce imput and duplication required by relevant commitee members etc. This type of idea would need to be fully validated etc 

Lowest input & highest output key principles within any entity

• Build knowledge and use the skills of the membership group in any way you can to become more agile and efficient 

• Do not be a "talking shop" define clear actions, goals and get them completed

• Multiple small actions over time build into much larger achievements  when viewed from the cumulative perspective 

• Do not implement any process, procedure or technology unless you have validated the benefits, costs & defined KPI's (key performance indicators)

• Implement the KISS principle in all situations (Keep it simple stupid)

• The time requirement for a committee member should no more than 1 to 2 hours  per week. My overall aim would be 1 hour per week and there should be no situations that a commitee member would spend more than 2 hours on any given actions or activities in any given week

•  Micro volunteers or people with specialist knowledge may be requested to help with certain actons or activities. The amount of time a person could provide in any given situation would be discussed and agreed as required

Note: time is a precious  commodity and any person participating with the residents association should only give there time if they have the time to give and getting something from there time commitment etc

The point is a residents association can achieve results with low levels of time requirements from people if proper planning and thought is put into relevant actions and activities carried out and managed through a residents association. In some respects a residents association activities should become self managing through the memberdhip group if all the relevant elements are defined and implemented in the correct manner

Above are only examples of what I believe a residents association can do for the community and the wider area.
