I am aware of some house holds within our area that are housting displaced people affected by the war in Ukraine and in my opinion any of these house holds and the displaced people within these households should be provided with the full support of the state and recieve any extra support that can be provided by the community within our area to help, support and integrate these people into our community and help them to integrate and re build their lives within our community etc
Accommodation Recognition Payment for hosting refugees from Ukraine
A house hold supporting a displaced ukranian person through the scheme would recieve an annual payment of €7200 tax free, however a house hold could also rent a room to an Irish tax payer and charge up to €14000 tax free for the same accomodation within their household
As an overall community we should be applauding any house holds that support Ukranian displaced persons that are penalised by the Irish state from a financial perspective in supporting ukranian displaced persons compared to Irish tax paying residents seeking accomodation.

As a community area what can we do to help
I would leave this question up to any individual in our area and for them to ask themselves the question "what can I do to help"
Note: There are other members of our community that need support e.g home less people born in our area etc. No person in need is more important than another person in need, however all persons in need require some sort of help and support for a myriad of different reasons...
