The list below is an example of the steps required to form a residents association for the Foxrock-Beechpark area via an initial public meeting.
Verify if there is interest from householders in the setup of a residents association.
Decide on a residents association name. Proposed name Beech Park residents association based on our area defined as electoral area Foxrock-Beechpark.
Identify any householders that would like to be part of the residents association commitee.
Identify issues within the area that householders may be concerned about.
Hold a public meeting related to the formation of a residents association.
Elect a residents association commitee, Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Secretary and 8 general members (For consideration 1 general member to support the older people within the community and 2 general members to be below 21 years of age to represent the requirements of our youth within the community).
Define and agree a residents association constitution.
Agree if there is to be any annual fee to support the activities of a residents association.
A residents association is required to obtain public liability insurance (approx €500 - €600 per year)
Annual audit of the financial accounts of the residents association (approx €500 per year).
Creation of a residents association website, social media channels, implementation of digital accounting software (if required) and other relevant communication methods (email, WhatsApp, video conferencing etc (approx cost free to €300+ depending on the type of technical solutions used).
Engage with other established residents association for advice and guidance.
Engage with DLRCC, DLRCC Blackrock councillors, the Gardai etc.
